Isn’t everyone just tired of hearing that Hindi filmmakers are taking ideas and concepts from Hollywood filmmakers? But did you know that this process also happens vice-versa?

Well, here is a list of 10 Hollywood films which were inspired by Bollywood films.

A COMMON MAN (2013) AND A WEDNESDAY (2008)

Academy Award winner, Ben Kingsley was cast by Chandran Rutnam for the role of Naseeruddin Shah’s character from A Wednesday. A Common Man is not just inspired but is an official remake of Neeraj Pandey’s work of art.

DELIVERY MAN (2013) AND VICKY DONOR (2012)

The only difference between the two movies was that the story was a little different and that Vince Vaughn’s sperm donations helped in giving birth to a total of 533 children in comparison to Ayyushman’s 53 children. But the basic idea of the film was the same and was inspired by Vicky Donor.

FEAR (1996) AND DARR (1993)

Other than the name and the love triangle of this classic, the impressive and larger than life scene of a stalker, Shah Rukh Khan, carving K-K-K-Kiran’s name on his chest has also been altered by James Foley in his American thriller Fear.

WIN A DATE WITH TAD HAMILTON! (2004) AND RANGEELA (1995)

The best friend might not be a tapori as played by Aamir Khan, but the basic idea of the film is a girl caught in a dilemma of a love triangle between her best friend and a movie star.

KILL BILL (2003) AND ABHAY (2001)

Despite the plot being different, this popular thriller by Quentin Tarentino had action scenes too which Quentin himself told Anurag were inspired from Kama Hassan starrer Abhay.

Abhay too was an adaptation of Aalavandhan which was a 2001 Tamil film and also starred Kamal Hassan.

PEARL HARBOUR (2001) AND SANGAM (1964)

Pearl Harbor was a love triangle between two best friends and a girl. Concepts of both films are somewhat similar, but the only difference between the two films is that Sangam only had one friend as a pilot. But in Hollywood remake, the counterpart had both.

LEAP YEAR (2010) AND JAB WE MET (2007)

The makers of Leap Year said that the film was not inspired by Jab We Met. But you decide this for yourself. A bubbly talkative girl is on her way to propose to her boyfriend, meets a stranger on the train and shares a hotel room with him. They fall in love, part ways but eventually find their way back and live happily ever after.

JUST GO WITH IT (2011) AND MAINE PYAR KYUN KIYA (2005)

Jennifer Aniston- Sushmita Sen and Adam Sandler- Salman Khan. Yes, the basic idea of both films is the same. Both the stories were inspired by Cactus Flower (1969) but with different timelines.

HITCH (2005) AND CHHOTI SI BAAT (1975)

We all know the fact that Salman-Govinda starrer Partner is said to be a copy of Hitch. But seems like Hitch itself was adapted from the plot of Chhoti Si Baat in which a boy is unsuccessful to woo a girl and then later with the help of another man woos the girl. Later the latter man makes it his profession to help people facing similar problems.

DIVORCE INVITATION (2012) AND AAHWANAM (1997)

Interestingly SV Krishnan Reddy himself re-made the Tamil romantic comedy for Hollywood Box Office. The Hollywood film featured Jonathan Bennett and Jamie L. Sigler.
