Huge Fire, Blasts At Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour, 25 Boats Turn To Ash

A devastating fire engulfed 25 fishing boats at Vishakhapatnam Harbour late last night, resulting in an estimated loss of ₹4-5 crores. Prompt response from the Indian Navy and firefighting units prevented casualties, although the blaze caused extensive damage to livelihoods.

Police Commissioner Ravi Shankar has announced a comprehensive investigation into the incident. The fire, suspected to have started on a fishing boat, quickly spread due to prevailing winds and combustible materials onboard. Speculations about foul play or a party-related trigger are being thoroughly examined.

“We’re committed to a multidisciplinary probe to uncover the cause,” stated Shankar. Senior officer Ananda Reddy urged caution due to fuel tank explosions. Efforts to control the fire are ongoing, emphasizing public safety.

Authorities reassure the community of a diligent inquiry into this distressing event and pledge support for affected fishermen.
