Steven Yeun Regrettably Departs Marvel Studios’ ‘Thunderbolts’ Due to Scheduling Conflicts
  • PublishedJanuary 4, 2024

Actor Steven Yeun, known for his acclaimed performances in ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Minari’, has announced his departure from Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated film, ‘Thunderbolts’. The decision stems from unforeseen scheduling conflicts that have arisen, impacting Yeun’s ability to commit to the project.

Originally set to join the star-studded cast of ‘Thunderbolts’, Yeun expressed deep regret over the necessity to withdraw from this exciting venture. The film, which showcases a team of Marvel antiheroes and supervillains, has encountered production hurdles linked to the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023, further complicating scheduling logistics.

Despite this development, ‘Thunderbolts’ remains steadfast in its mission to deliver an enthralling cinematic experience. The ensemble cast, including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, continues to drive anticipation for the July 2025 release directed by Jake Schreier (‘Paper Towns’).

While Yeun’s absence is felt, audiences can anticipate his upcoming projects, including ‘Micky 17’ alongside Robert Pattinson and ‘Love Me’ featuring Kristen Stewart, showcasing his versatile talent.
