Arvind Kejriwal Appears Before Delhi Court Via Videoconferencing, Seeks Exemption
  • PublishedFebruary 17, 2024

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared before the Delhi Rouse Avenue Court through videoconferencing on Saturday, seeking exemption from physical appearance for the day. Kejriwal cited the ongoing Budget session and a confidence motion in the Delhi assembly as reasons for seeking the exemption. The appearance was in response to summons issued on a complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for Kejriwal’s non-appearance before the agency.

The counsel for Arvind Kejriwal informed the court that he would physically appear on the next scheduled date. During the videoconference, Kejriwal explained to the court that due to the ongoing discussions related to the confidence motion and the budget session in the assembly, he could not make a physical appearance. The court has listed the matter for the next hearing on March 16.
