Addressing an event in Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the opposition’s INDIA bloc, accusing them of working for their families rather than the welfare of the country. The INDIA bloc, a coalition of opposition parties, has been forming alliances in various states, with talks between the Congress and AAP progressing in Delhi and an alliance finalized in Uttar Pradesh with the Samajwadi Party.

Prime Minister Modi, speaking at an event commemorating Sant Ravidas’ 647th birth anniversary, asserted that the INDIA alliance engages in divisive politics based on caste and opposes schemes for the benefit of Dalits and the deprived. He labeled the alliance as working for the welfare of their families rather than the entire nation.

The BJP refers to the INDIA bloc as an unnatural alliance, highlighting the internal rivalries among its constituents. Modi emphasized that his government’s schemes are for everyone and are aimed at inclusive development. He reiterated the government’s commitment to serving every section of society, emphasizing the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Effort.’

During his visit to Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Modi distributed prizes for Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita winners, launched two books, and is set to inaugurate or lay the foundation for projects worth ₹13,000 crore in Varanasi. The political landscape is heating up as various blocs and alliances take shape in the lead-up to elections in different states.
