Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated over 2,000 railway infrastructure projects worth approximately ₹41,000 crore, symbolizing the work culture of ‘New India.’ Addressing the event, Modi praised the unprecedented speed and scale at which the country operates today, moving beyond small aspirations to realize ambitious dreams swiftly. The projects encompass the foundation stone laying for the redevelopment of 553 railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. This significant initiative aligns with the transformative agenda for Indian Railways over the last decade, including the introduction of Vande Bharat trains, a focus on cleanliness, and electrification of tracks.

Modi emphasized his government’s commitment to preventing the misuse of public funds, ensuring that every rupee contributes to expanding railway services. While cautioning against revenue leaks due to scams, the prime minister highlighted the need for fiscal discipline to translate budget increases into tangible impacts on the ground.

Renovated railway stations are playing a crucial role in promoting local culture and supporting artisans. Modi underlined the shift in the perception of the Indian Railways from being a victim of politics to a key contributor to ease of travel and a substantial source of employment. He expressed a resolute commitment to fulfilling the dreams of the youth, emphasizing that their aspirations and hard work are integral to India’s development.

This extensive launch of railway projects signifies a crucial step toward modernizing and fortifying the country’s rail infrastructure, fostering economic growth and enhancing connectivity on a significant scale.
