Prime Minister Narendra Modi met German singer-songwriter Cassandra Mae Spittmann and her mother during his visit to Palladam, Tamil Nadu. The 22-year-old singer, known for her renditions in various Indian languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and more, sang ‘Achyutam Keshavam’ and a Tamil song for PM Modi.

Cassandra Mae Spittmann gained popularity in India last year, with her Tamil songs and devotional tracks going viral. She was featured in PM Modi’s Mann ki Baat, where he praised her sweet voice and emotional connection to the music. This marked her first visit to India.

The visually challenged singer has a remarkable talent for singing in multiple Indian languages, including Kannada, Sanskrit, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, and others. Despite her visual impairment, Cassandra has become a child prodigy in the music industry.

PM Modi expressed his appreciation for her melodious voice and highlighted the surprise that a daughter from Germany showcased such love for Indian devotional music. Cassandra’s renditions have previously garnered attention, especially her performance of ‘Ram Ayenge’ ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Cassandra Mae Spittmann’s visit to India and her musical contributions further strengthen the cultural exchange between Germany and India, showcasing the universal appeal of music that transcends borders and languages.
