Disturbing Double Murder Shakes Badaun: Children Hacked to Death, Accused Killed in Police Encounter

In a shocking incident that unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun, two young children, aged around 11 and 6 years old, were brutally hacked to death on Tuesday evening while they were playing on the terrace of a building in Baba Colony. The accused, identified as Sajid, allegedly waited for the opportune moment before carrying out the gruesome act, as reported by news agency ANI. The victims, identified as brothers Ayush and Honey, fell prey to this heinous crime.

Bareilly inspector-general of police Rakesh Kumar revealed that the accused, Sajid, launched the attack on the innocent children before attempting to flee the scene. However, the police swiftly responded, initiating a chase that culminated in an encounter where Sajid was killed. The police have recovered the murder weapon and the revolver used by the accused.

While the motive behind the murders remains unclear, reports suggest a possible dispute over money, with the accused allegedly demanding ₹5,000 from the father of the deceased children. Badaun district magistrate Manoj Kumar stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the exact reason behind the ghastly crime.

The tragic incident sparked outrage among locals, leading to protests and tension in the area. Heavy police security was deployed to maintain order, with additional measures taken to quell any unrest. However, reports emerged of locals setting a shop on fire in anger following the incident. District magistrate Manoj Kumar assured that an investigation would be conducted, and urged the community to maintain peace during this challenging time.

As the bodies of the young victims undergo postmortem examination, the community mourns the loss of innocent lives while grappling with the shocking brutality of the crime that has shaken Badaun to its core.
