Amiphoria: A spectacular showcase of talent and creativity at Amity University, Punjab.

Mohali: Amity University, Punjab, hosted its inaugural youth festival titled ‘Amiphoria’ on March 21 and 22 on its Mohali campus. This two-day extravaganza was celebrated as a showcase of talent, creativity and passion, offering an array of exciting activities for participants.

The event began with a grand inaugural ceremony graced by esteemed dignitaries who served as chief guests and guests of honour. The ceremony commenced with welcoming our esteemed Chief Guest Prof Shantanu Bhattacharya, Director, ISRO-CSIO, Chandigarh and Guest of Honour Dr PJ Singh, MD and Chairman of Tynor followed by the lighting of the lamp, and a warm welcome address by Prof (Dr) R K Kohli, Vice Chancellor of Amity University, Punjab. Dr Shivali Dhingra, Dean-Student Welfare, who introduced ‘Amiphoria’, setting the tone for the festival. Esteemed guests also shared their insights during the ceremony. The event culminated with a vote of thanks by Mr Sahil Kapoor, Associate Director (BD & Marketing), Amity University, Punjab, followed by a captivating dance performance by students.

Subsequently, students participated in various activities across different venues. Day 1 witnessed a plethora of events such as ‘Technovation’, ‘Through the Lens’, ‘Reel it In’, ‘Beat Bonanza’, ‘Aquarelle’, ‘Virtual Mayhem’, ‘The Battle of Wits’, and more, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity. The day concluded with an electrifying performance by the renowned band, ADDICTION AGE.

Day 1 of the event saw a remarkable footfall of more than 2000 students from over 56 colleges and universities spanning more than 10 cities. The day concluded with a fun-filled DJ Truck and an exceptional band performance by Addiction Age.

The excitement continued on Day 2, Friday, March 22, with various activities scheduled throughout the day. From ‘Monologue Marvel’, ‘Nexus Nectar’, ‘Code Relay’, ‘Ad Blitz’, ‘Quiet Reflections’, ‘Colouring Souls’, ‘Cut-n-Create’ to ‘Brain Freeze’ and nukkad natak, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The footfall for the day was more than 2000 students.

In addition to the scheduled events, attendees explored the ‘Wonders of Science’, ‘Maati Ke Mohawk’, and various on-the-spot competitions and fun games, adding to the excitement and thrill of ‘Amiphoria’. The day culminated with an award ceremony and a mesmerising Star Night featuring the popular Punjabi singer, Parmish Verma, promising an unforgettable experience for all attendees. The Parmish Verma concert attracted a crowd of 10,000 youth from across the cities.

Talking about the event, Parmish Verma, singer, said: “Amiphoria was unforgettable. Performing at Amity University, Punjab, and connecting with such an amazing audience through music was a great experience.”

‘Amiphoria’ provided an unforgettable experience brimming with joy, laughter, and inspiration. Speaking on the occasion, Sahil Kapoor, Director, Business Development and Marketing, at Amity University, Punjab, said: “Welcoming participants from 56 colleges and universities across 10 cities was a privilege for us. It was a vibrant and dynamic gathering that showcased the spirit of camaraderie and excellence.”
