Mukhtar Ansari’s Funeral Arrangements Amid Controversy Over His Death
The mortal remains of Mukhtar Ansari, the notorious gangster-turned-politician, arrived at his residence in Gazipur, Uttar Pradesh, late on Friday night. Heavy police deployment has been arranged by the city’s administration for his funeral, scheduled for Saturday morning. Mukhtar Ansari’s elder brother, Sibgatullah Ansari, confirmed that the last rites will take place on Saturday, following a delay in receiving the body.
Ansari, a convicted murderer, passed away in a hospital in Banda, where he was serving time in jail, reportedly due to a cardiac arrest. However, his family alleges foul play, accusing the local administration of administering what they term as “slow poison.” Nevertheless, the post-mortem examination conducted at Rani Durgavati Medical College concluded that Ansari died of a heart attack, dismissing poisoning claims.
During the post-mortem examination, Mukhtar Ansari’s younger son, Umar Ansari, was present. Despite Umar’s demand for the examination to be conducted at Delhi’s AIIMS, it proceeded locally. A judicial probe into Ansari’s death will be conducted by a three-member team to address the family’s concerns, as expressed by Umar Ansari, who believes his father’s death was orchestrated.
Ansari was admitted to the hospital on Thursday evening and despite efforts by a medical team, he succumbed during treatment. His elder brother, Sibgatullah Ansari, lamented the lack of proper medical care provided to Mukhtar Ansari, further fueling controversy surrounding his demise.
As Ansari’s funeral approaches, the circumstances of his death continue to be scrutinized, highlighting the contentious legacy of a figure whose life was intertwined with crime and politics.
