Elon Musk’s India Visit Postponed Due to Heavy Tesla Commitments

Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s highly anticipated two-day visit to India, scheduled for April 21 and 22, has been postponed. Musk was expected to announce Tesla’s plans to enter the Indian market and meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a statement on X, Musk cited “very heavy Tesla obligations” as the reason for the delay. He expressed regret over the postponement but affirmed his eagerness to visit later in the year. The decision comes as Musk is required to participate in a crucial conference call on April 23 to address inquiries regarding Tesla’s first quarter performance in the United States.

During his visit, Musk was anticipated to unveil investment plans of $2-3 billion for a factory to manufacture entry-level cars and discuss the introduction of Starlink, a satellite network providing high-speed internet connectivity. Additionally, he was slated to engage with Indian space tech startups in New Delhi.

Prime Minister Modi, who has previously met Musk on two occasions, expressed confidence in Musk’s support for India. He clarified that Musk’s endorsement extends beyond personal rapport with him to a broader endorsement of India.
