  • PublishedMay 8, 2024

In the span of 24 hours, authorities in Punjab recovered two drones from border areas, highlighting concerns over security breaches. The first drone was found in Ganjuana village by a joint team of the Fazilka police and the Border Security Force (BSF) following a tip-off. Identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, the drone was seized during a search operation initiated in response to the intelligence input.

Similarly, in the second incident, BSF troops discovered another drone outside a residence in Hardo Rattan village in Amritsar. This recovery, prompted by specific inputs, underlines the persistent threat of illicit drone activities along the border. Once again, the recovered drone was identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic.

These discoveries add to the growing concerns over security breaches facilitated by drones, especially in sensitive border regions. Just days earlier, the BSF had recovered another drone in a damaged state from a field near Ratan Khurd village in Amritsar.

Authorities remain vigilant, conducting search operations and deploying resources to counter the potential misuse of drones for nefarious activities along the Punjab border.
