AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal Writes to RSS Chief; BJP Responds with Counterattack.
In a sharp escalation of political tensions ahead of the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal penned a letter to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, questioning the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) alleged “wrongdoings” and their impact on democracy. Kejriwal highlighted concerns about vote-buying, voter suppression, and the role of the RSS in supporting BJP’s actions.
The former Delhi Chief Minister accused the BJP of distributing money to voters and suppressing the votes of marginalized communities, including Dalits and slum dwellers. “Does the RSS support such actions? Is this what Indian democracy stands for?” Kejriwal asked, citing media reports of RSS campaigning for the BJP in Delhi.
The BJP hit back strongly, dismissing Kejriwal’s claims as baseless. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva responded with a letter advising Kejriwal to “stop lying” and refrain from making false promises. Sachdeva added, “The people of Delhi deserve honest leadership, not empty words or false oaths. We urge Kejriwal to focus on truthful governance.”
With Delhi poised to elect its 70 MLAs before February, the exchange marks a fiery start to the election season. The AAP continues to allege voter list manipulation and corruption by the BJP, while the BJP counters with accusations of dishonesty and dubious funding against Kejriwal.
The political showdown sets the stage for a heated battle in the national capital.
