Top LeT Commander Altaf Lalli Killed in Bandipora Encounter; Massive Crackdown Underway Post-Pahalgam Attack
  • PublishedApril 25, 2025

In a major breakthrough following the tragic April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 innocent lives, top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Altaf Lalli was gunned down in a joint operation by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police in Bandipora. Acting on specific intelligence, a cordon-and-search operation turned into a fierce gunfight, resulting in Lalli’s elimination. Two police personnel were injured in the exchange.

This marks the first success in India’s intensified mission to dismantle the network behind the Pahalgam massacre. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, currently in Srinagar, is reviewing the operation’s progress and regional security.

Meanwhile, security forces demolished the houses of terrorists Adil Hussain Thoker (Bijbehara) and Asif Sheikh (Tral), suspected collaborators in the attack. Thoker allegedly aided Pakistani terrorists who executed the ambush in Baisaran Valley.

Anantnag Police have issued sketches and announced a ₹20 lakh reward for leads on Thoker and two Pakistani terrorists – Ali Bhai and Hashim Musa.

India’s resolve stands firm: those responsible for this barbaric act will face the full force of justice.
