LoC Tensions Escalate: Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Again, India Hits Back Amid Diplomatic Fallout
  • PublishedApril 26, 2025

Tensions continue to surge along the Line of Control (LoC) as Pakistan violated the ceasefire for a second consecutive night, triggering a sharp response from the Indian Army. On the night of April 25–26, Pakistani posts across the LoC in Kashmir opened unprovoked small arms fire, according to officials. Indian forces retaliated immediately and effectively, with no casualties reported.

This flare-up follows the horrific Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, in which 26 people—mostly tourists—lost their lives. Indian officials believe the ceasefire violations are linked to Pakistan’s efforts to divert attention and aid infiltration following the massacre.

The Indian response has been firm both militarily and diplomatically. Earlier this week, India suspended the decades-old Indus Waters Treaty and expelled Pakistani military attachés. The Attari border crossing has been shut, and all Pakistani nationals who entered via Attari have been ordered to leave by May 1.

In a further crackdown, two terrorist associates were arrested on Saturday from Thokerpora in Kulgam’s Qaimoh area, police sources confirmed.

Pakistan, reacting strongly to India’s diplomatic moves, labeled the treaty suspension an “act of war” and retaliated by closing its airspace to Indian flights.

As ceasefire violations persist and tit-for-tat measures escalate, the region braces for further uncertainty. With the Pahalgam attack casting a long shadow, India appears resolute in countering both terror networks and cross-border provocations with a multi-pronged strategy.
