Shashi Tharoor Evokes Grief and Fury in ‘Operation Sindoor’ Address in Panama

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, heading the all-party delegation on Operation Sindoor, delivered a poignant and emotional address to the Indian community in Panama City during their three-day official visit. Tharoor spoke about the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, where terrorists brutally killed men in front of their wives, wiping away the sindoor — the traditional vermilion mark symbolizing married life — from 26 women by depriving them of their husbands and fathers.

Tharoor stated, “India decided to match the colour of these women’s sindoor, which was wiped off by terrorists, with the colour of the terrorists’ blood.” He recalled the cries of the women who suffered in Pahalgam, saying some tried to express their pain, but were told to “go back and tell what happened to you.” “We heard their cries,” Tharoor added, emphasizing India’s resolve to ensure justice through Operation Sindoor.

He reiterated the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, explaining that Operation Sindoor was a necessary response to the horrific acts aimed at destroying families and communities. The operation reflects India’s commitment to fighting terrorism and protecting its citizens.

The delegation, which includes Members of Parliament Sarfaraz Ahmed, G M Harish Balayogi, Shashank Mani Tripathi, Tejasvi Surya, Bhubaneswar Kalita, Mallikarjun Devda, Milind Deora, and former Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, is currently on a diplomatic visit to Panama after concluding their trip to Guyana.
