Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met 14-year-old cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family at Patna Airport, following the youngster’s remarkable debut season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 with the Rajasthan Royals. The meeting marked national recognition of Suryavanshi’s extraordinary talent and rising stardom.
Sharing moments from the meeting on social media, PM Modi wrote, “At Patna airport, met the young cricketing sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and his family. His cricketing skills are being admired all over the nation! My best wishes to him for his future endeavours.”
Vaibhav, who was signed by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.1 crore at just 13 years old, made a spectacular IPL debut this season. In seven matches, he amassed 252 runs at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 206.55, forming a dynamic opening pair with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
His defining moment came on April 28 against Gujarat Titans, where he became the youngest T20 half-centurion and scored the fastest IPL century by an Indian—reaching the landmark in just 35 balls. He concluded his season with a solid 57-run innings against Chennai Super Kings on May 20.
Despite RR not making the playoffs, Suryavanshi’s performance has captured national attention, signaling the rise of a new cricketing prodigy. His journey is being celebrated as an inspiring example for young athletes across India.
