New CCTV Footage Deepens Mystery Around Missing Indore Couple in Meghalaya
A newly surfaced CCTV footage has added fresh complexity to the mysterious disappearance of an Indore couple in Meghalaya. The couple — Raja Suryavanshi (29) and his wife Sonam — went missing on May 23 from the Cherrapunji area during their honeymoon. Days later, Raja’s body was recovered from a gorge, while Sonam remains missing.
The latest footage, dated May 22, shows the couple arriving at a Shillong homestay on a scooter to drop off their luggage. Both were wearing black jackets and carrying a white suitcase. In the video, Raja is seen speaking to the staff while Sonam removes her jacket and fixes her hair. Moments later, Raja retrieves items from the suitcase and hands them to Sonam. Notably, the white shirt she is seen wearing was later found near Raja’s body, deepening suspicions.
The scooter seen in the footage was discovered abandoned near the gorge where Raja’s body was recovered, approximately 20 kilometers from the homestay.
Earlier CCTV footage from May 21 showed the couple checking in at a different Shillong homestay, suggesting a trail of movement across multiple locations.
While Raja’s body has been brought back to Indore, Sonam’s whereabouts remain unknown. Her brother has been in Shillong for the past 15 days, actively assisting the police in the search.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, piecing together the couple’s movements in the days leading up to the tragedy.
