Actor Saanvika, who won hearts as Rinki in Prime Video’s hit series Panchayat, has revealed that she turned down a kissing scene in the upcoming Season 4 due to personal discomfort and the show’s family-oriented nature. The makers supported her decision and reworked the scene, preserving the essence of her character while ensuring her comfort.
In an interview with YouTube channel Just Too Filmy, Saanvika shared that the original script included a kissing scene between her character Rinki and Sachiv Ji (played by Jitendra Kumar). “I asked for two days to think about it. I wasn’t comfortable, and I also kept in mind that Panchayat is loved by families,” she said.
Director Deepak Kumar Mishra and the team respected her stance and modified the scene, replacing it with a more subtle moment involving a water tank. “They told me it wouldn’t be vulgar, but even during shooting, I felt awkward. Luckily, Jeetu was very supportive and made me feel comfortable,” Saanvika added.
A self-made artist, Saanvika revealed she came to Mumbai without informing her family and built her acting career independently. “My family hasn’t questioned me about this yet, but they are proud I’m part of a show like Panchayat,” she said.
Set in the fictional village of Phulera, Panchayat continues to charm audiences with its simplicity, humor, and heart-touching narratives.
