Tamil Nadu Custodial Death: Autopsy Reveals 44 Injuries, Severe Brain Trauma, and Evidence of Torture

The post-mortem report of Ajith Kumar, the victim in a shocking custodial death case in Tamil Nadu, has revealed harrowing details of violent abuse. The autopsy documented 44 injuries, including deep muscle contusions, brain haemorrhaging, and trauma to internal organs — all strongly indicative of prolonged and brutal physical torture.

The findings, accessed by India Today, show internal bleeding in vital organs such as the heart, liver, and brain. Subscalp contusions and haemorrhaging in both cerebral lobes point to severe blunt force trauma to the head, a likely cause of death.

The report directly contradicts earlier police claims of a natural death or minor scuffle. Instead, overlapping and deep linear injuries — some up to 28 cm — suggest repeated beatings with hard objects such as batons or sticks. Even sensitive areas like the soles of the feet and gluteal region bore signs of forceful trauma.

Evidence of petechial haemorrhages in internal organs, coupled with bite marks and muscle-deep contusions, further supports claims of systematic custodial torture.

Human rights advocates have condemned the incident, calling for immediate legal action against responsible personnel. The custodial death of Ajith Kumar has reignited national outrage over police brutality and the urgent need for reform in law enforcement accountability.

This autopsy report stands as irrefutable medical evidence of a violent death — not accidental, but inflicted.
