Mohit Suri’s much-anticipated romantic drama Saiyaara has made an impressive debut at the box office, collecting ₹20 crore on Day 1, as per Sacnilk reports. With a strong 49.90% overall Hindi occupancy on July 18, the film witnessed a steady rise throughout the day — peaking at 66.62% during the night shows.
Presented by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner and produced by Akshaye Widhani, Saiyaara marks the grand debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The fresh pairing and soulful storytelling have struck a chord with the audience. Critics have lauded the newcomers’ performances, with NDTV’s Radhika Sharma stating, “There is promise and a fire in the belly to prove their mettle.”
Director Mohit Suri shared an interesting anecdote about casting Ahaan Panday. Initially unsure about the young actor’s fit for the role, a casual dinner changed everything. “As soon as Ahaan dropped the act and became himself, I saw my character come alive,” Suri recalled. The casting, once uncertain, now feels destined.
With strong word-of-mouth and growing interest, Saiyaara is expected to soar over the weekend. The film blends a traditional Hindi musical feel with fresh energy, making it one of the most promising debuts of the year.
Saiyaara is now playing in theatres across India.
