Operation Mahadev: All 3 Pahalgam Attackers Eliminated, Confirms Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday announced in the Lok Sabha that all three terrorists responsible for the brutal Pahalgam attack have been neutralized by security forces in Operation Mahadev. The terrorists—top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Suleiman Shah, Afghan, and Jibran—were eliminated in a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu & Kashmir Police.

Speaking during a discussion on Operation Sindoor, Shah revealed that the terrorists had killed innocent civilians in Baisaran Valley on April 22, 2025, after asking them about their religion in front of their families. The attackers were later identified by individuals who had sheltered them, including two locals—Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar and Bashir Ahmad—who were arrested by the NIA last month.

“The individuals who supplied food to the terrorists were detained, and once the bodies were brought to Srinagar, they were confirmed as the same attackers,” said Shah.

He emphasized that security agencies were given clear instructions not to let the terrorists escape across the border, ensuring justice was delivered swiftly and decisively.

Amid opposition sloganeering, Shah remarked, “I expected celebration at this news. Instead, I see disappointment.”

The successful execution of Operation Mahadev marks a significant victory in India’s ongoing counterterrorism efforts and demonstrates the unwavering resolve of Indian forces to safeguard the nation.
