Shilpa Shetty Announces Closure of Bastian Bandra Amid Ongoing Allegations

Actor and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty has announced the closure of her iconic restaurant, Bastian Bandra, bringing an end to one of Mumbai’s most celebrated dining and nightlife destinations. The announcement, shared by Shetty on Instagram, described the moment as “the end of an era,” as the Bandra outlet prepares to close its doors this Thursday.

While the Bandra location is shutting down, Shetty confirmed that Bastian at the Top will continue to serve patrons with “new experiences.” As part of Bastian’s legacy, the popular Thursday ritual Arcane Affair will now be hosted at the Worli property. To commemorate the Bandra outlet, Shetty shared plans for a special evening with close patrons—“a night filled with nostalgia, energy, and magic.”

The closure comes against the backdrop of a Rs 60-crore fraud allegation filed by businessman Deepak Kothari against Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra. Kothari has alleged misuse of funds originally intended for business expansion nearly a decade ago.

Responding to the allegations, the couple’s lawyer, Prashant Patil, categorically denied the charges, stating: “All allegations are false. We have not received a copy of the FIR so far. Once we do, we will take the necessary legal steps. The transaction is old, and there is documentary evidence for everything.”

For many, the closure of Bastian Bandra symbolizes the end of an era in Mumbai’s culinary scene, even as its legacy lives on through Bastian at the Top.
