PM Modi Delivers Strong Message on Terrorism at SCO Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong message against terrorism at the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, calling for a united global approach to tackle the growing threat of terrorism.
Speaking during the roundtable discussion in the presence of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other SCO leaders, PM Modi stressed that terrorism cannot be treated as a strategic asset and called for the dismantling of the entire terror ecosystem.
PM Modi urged SCO members to speak with one voice against terrorism and emphasised that there can be no double standards when dealing with the serious threat. He highlighted the need for collective action, stronger cooperation and a firm commitment to eliminating terrorism and the networks that support it.
The Prime Minister’s remarks underscored India’s continued call for a zero-tolerance approach to terrorism and greater international cooperation to ensure peace, security and stability across the region.
The SCO Summit brought together leaders from member countries to discuss key regional and global challenges, with terrorism, security and cooperation among the major issues on the agenda.
