Gippy Grewal is the King of Pollywood. His singing talent has made him famous across generations but it is his acting prowess that has really hit chords with every age. Grewal is quite choosy with his films, a fact that is supported by list of filmography that has some of the jewels of Punjabi cinema. Grewal is waiting for the release of his next Carry On Jatta 2 on 1st June and we can't keep calm! While waiting for 1st June, let's take a look at his career's 5 best films that have changed the Punjabi industry for better.

Grewal played the role of Jass (to be reprised in Carry On Jatta 2) in this comedy of errors that released in 2012. The film became such a hit that it was remade in Odia, Telugu and Bengali. Carry on Jatta was the launch vehicle of his home production Gurfateh Films, which co-produced it with White Hill Productions.

Ramanaidu, invested in a Punjabi film. Grewal, who had already proved his comic timing, tried action in the film and aced it too. This 2013 release had Surveen Chawla playing the female lead. Gippy Grewal received a resounding applause for his spontaneous acting in this light-hearted flick.
JATT JAMES BOND

This was Gippy's first serious role where he played a thief. The film was the debut project of Bollywood actress Zarine Khan into Punjabi films. Grewal's screen-monicker in the film, Shinda, is the name of his son. The film grabbed some most-deserved awards at PTC Punjabi Film Awards, including Grewal's Best Actor trophy.

Explaining a big-fat Punjabi wedding to the 'T', Manje Bistre is surely a gem. Gippy proved that he is a multi-talented star as he donned the cap of a writer, screenplay writer, producer as well as the protagonist. The film garnered bucks as well as laurels. In fact, it recently sweeped up some major awards at the 1st BritAsia Punjabi Awards in UK.
SUBEDAR JOGINDER SINGH
[caption id="attachment_30777" align="alignnone" width="1080"]
Source: Instagram[/caption] This biopic based on the Param Vir Chakra Late Subedar Joginder Singh was one of the most anticipated films of 2018 and it took the box-office by storm. Gippy Grewal's performance was specially applauded and so were the technical details in the film that tried to create the scenes from Indo-Sino War of 1962. From his (oh-so-similar-to-Subedar) looks to his fierce acting, this film was definitely Grewal's most passionate role ever. Go ahead, watch these and wait for the release of Carry On Jatta 2
on 1st June 2018.
