5 IDEAS TO DOLL UP THAT HOME WITHOUT DOLING OUT THE CASH

We are sure you are also looking for the decor ideas for this Christmas season just like us. While some of you are ready to dole out and spend, some (quite like us) don’t really want to burn a hole in their pockets. Also, it seems a waste when you are living in a rented home, bound by a contract not to change anything in the house.

Well, Gabruu.com is here to your rescue with some ideas, that neither need you to spend bucks nor do they need you to break any of those precious clauses. Just a bit of creativity and an eye for the best out of waste, and you can add a scoop of that personal touch to your home.

1.     CAN’T CHANGE THAT PAINT? USE THE FOIL INSTEAD.

Well, even we were surprised when we came across this idea, shared by Kasautii Zindagii Kay actress Erica Fernandez (plays Prerna). We had always used aluminium foil only in our tiffins (and then as foil balls). Little did we know that it can also be spread across the wall to add some really classy dimension to the room.

Add your statement art pieces or DIY frames on this wall and we are sure everyone will definitely do a double take.

2.     CLOTHESPINS HAVE MORE USE THAN JUST HANGING CLOTHES!

There can nothing be more personal than adding a few pictures to the decor. Anything from your family portraits to your polaroids from the last vacation, they just add some positivity and good memories to the home. A bit of your loved ones and a bit of you!

But you can’t put them up with a nail (coz landlord has specified it in the list of don’ts). Well, no worries. Put up a string or colourful thread with a washi tape in a neon color and hang the photographs with clothespins.

Add fairy lights for effect, if you wish.

3.     DON’T THROW THOSE USED BOTTLES JUST YET...

Probably the most used up idea ever, but successful one too. Plastic bottles can be easily cut into shapes at home and can be used for multiple purposes. From using them as pots for your kitchen garden to putting your nitty-gritty jewellery pieces, bottles come to rescue anytime, any day.

So, next time, just find a good DIY YouTube video before throwing those bottles out. You may get some fancy ideas to use them to beautify your home.

4.     YOUR OLD T-SHIRT CAN STILL BE A STATEMENT PIECE, WITH A TWIST ;)

Bored of your old T-shirts? Or have they worn out? But you still love them and don’t really wanna throw them away? Well, we have an idea. Cut out the old T-shirts, the prints or designs and sew them together to make a rug for the floor or a colourful throw for your bed.

Never knew that old T-shirts had such a potential to be brand new and statement, did you?

5.     BOXES ARE THE NEW WARDROBES AND STANDS

One thing that is always less, the space to store. We understand you. That’s why we have realised that those shoe and little gift boxes you considered useless are actually the new-age storage spaces. Don’t believe us? Just take a look:

Add colours, some unique handles, use them in various shapes and sizes or put them up in a pattern. But those boxes are of much use to give you some extra place to put in your books, shoes, jewellery pieces, cosmetics and even a few clothes, shall the need be.

These ideas are absolutely easy-to-do and pocket friendly. Have more such creative DIYs? Just share them with us through the comments section below.
