Known as the land of Gods India is filled with self-styled God-men. Well, the number is countless, some of them have made themselves very famous. Not with their supernatural powers (which doesn't exist) but with their evil deeds. They didn't perform any miracle but they were found guilty on the cases of rape, money laundering and murder. Here we list down 5 self-styled Indian Godmen who ended up in jail.
1. Gurmeet Ram Rahim

was convicted for the rape of two women (his followers) by the Special CBI court Panchkula on 25th August, 2017. He was the head of spiritual sect Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa Haryana.
2. Asaram Bapu
This self-styled Godman has been convicted for the rape of a 16-year-old girl. The case which had been logged in Jodhpur Jail in 2013 was finally closed today i.e. 25th April 2018. He has been sentenced to life in jail. The following five charges that have been leveled against Asaram Bapu are, raping a minor girl, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, criminal conspiracy and sexual harassment.
3. Nirmal Baba
Nirmal Baba is a self-styled godman from Jharkhand. He started to come around controversies when it emerged that he was charging admission fees of Rs. 2,000 per person to his ‘darbar’ sessions. Then in 2014, he was accused of evading ₹3.5-crore service tax.
4. Sant Rampal
A self-proclaimed Godman from Hisar, Sant Rampal was caught by Haryana police in 2014 after they found the bodies of five women and an 18-month-old child at his Satlok ashram. He was arrested and jailed for almost two years.
A self-acclaimed Godman from Jabalpur, Swami Vikasanand was accused and arrested in 2016 for sexually abusing minor girls and making. Apparently, almost 60 pornographic films were discovered in his possession at the time of his arrest in 2006.
