November 7: Amitabh Bachchan, popularly known as the 'Shahenshah' of Bollywood started his career with the movie Saat Hindustani in 1969. Today, he completes 50 years of working with the Film Industry as his debut movie was released today.

On this achievement, to celebrate the same, Abhishek Bachchan has shared a heartfelt message on Instagram for his father.



Big B has gained popularity in the 1970s after giving hit movies like 'Zanjeer', 'Deewar' and GP Sippy Blockbuster 'Sholay'. 

He has also received Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the actor has worked in around 200 Bollywood Movies in a career which spans up to five decades. In 2015, Amitabh Bachchan was honored with Padma Vibhushan which is India's second-highest civilian honor award.



The 77-year-old megastar has recently worked in the movie 'Badla' with Taapsee Pannu and he has won four National Film Awards for his roles in movies like 'Agneepath', 'Black', 'Paa' and 'Piku'.

ANGRY YOUNG MAN ROLES - ZANJEER, DEEWAAR

In 1973, Amitabh Bachchan played the role of an Inspector and his name was Vijay Khanna in the movie Zanjeer. Since then he appeared in many other movies with the same name 'Vijay'. In the same year, he worked in two more films Abhimaan and Namak Haraam and for the movie Namak Haraam, he received the Filmfare award for the Best Supporting Actor.



In 1975, he appeared in Yash Chopra's movie 'Deewaar' in which Shashi Kapoor also played the role of Big B's younger brother. This movie earned him a Filmfare award for the Best Actor.



SHOLAY - THE BLOCKBUSTER

This movie was released in 1975 which was a Ramesh Sippy's directorial. Amitabh Bachchan starred in this movie as rose to fame as this movie is considered as one of the greatest Indian movies of all time. 



AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY & DON

The Senior Bachchan also worked in an action-comedy 'Amar Akbar Anthony' which was directed by Manmohan Desai in 1977 and won the Filmfare Award for the Best Actor. 



In 1978 he played a double role in the movie 'DON' which earned him a Filmfare award for the Best Actor.



SHAHENSHAH & AGNEEPATH

After working in Coolie movie in 1983 he returned to work in the movie Shahenshah in 1988 which was a box office hit. 



In 1990 he played the role of a gangster in Mukul Anand's movie Agneepath and his name was kept Vijay Deenanath Chauhan in this movie. He received a National Film Award for the Best Actor for this movie.

BLACK, PAA, BHOOTHNATH

In 2005, he worked Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie Black, where he played the role of a teacher of blind and deaf girl. He also played the role of a progeria patient in R Balki's movie Paa which was released in 2009. For his movies, Bhoothnath and its sequel Bhoothnath returns he played the roles of a friendly ghost.



All these movies earned him a National Award for the Best Actor as regards his unique performances.

Amitabh Bachchan has not only worked as an actor in several movies but also narrated in many films and also performed as a playback singer in the movies Laawaris, Silsila and Baghban.

He is recently working in upcoming movies Brahmastra, Chehre and Gulabo Sitabo.
