Six people including two children were killed after a car skidded off the road and fell into a canal in UP's Greater Noida due to fog as told by the police on Monday. 5 other people who were in the car sustained serious injuries as well in the accident that took place at around 11:30 AM on Sunday.
A Police spokesperson said, "Altogether 11 people were on board the Maruti Ertiga. The car fell into the Kherli canal in Dankaur area. All 11 were taken to a hospital, where doctors declared six of them dead, while the remaining five are undergoing treatment."
The whole of North India has been gripped with dense fog. States including Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been worst affected with the severe cold that has been sweeping across the region. As per the reports, the minimum temperature in some parts of Delhi was recorded at 2.4-degree Celcius which was colder than Shimla (4 Degree) & Mussoorie (3.9 Degree).
