60 DEAD, AS TRAIN RAN OVER PEOPLE CELEBRATING DUSSEHRA ON THE TRACKS

19th October 2018 came out to be a dark day for the residents of the Holy city of Amritsar as a train ran over the people celebrating the festival of Dussehra. The incident took place in Joda Fatak area of Amritsar where people were celebrating the festival on the railway line.
At least 61 people lost their lives and 72 got injured on Friday when a speeding train mowed them down while they were celebrating Dussehra. The incident shocked the nation and many people expressed their feelings about the incident.
Owing to the loss happened in the tragic incident, Punjab Government ordered to close all the government offices and educational institutes. The incident took place when people were standing on the railway line on which train arrived and crushed around 60 lives, the train was moving on Amritsar-Jalandhar direction.
Prime Minister also mourned the casualties which happened last night and promised to give 2 lacks for each of the families who lost their loved ones. Govt. also announced to give 50,000 to those who are injured. Railways issues helpline numbers: 0183-2223171, 0183-2564485.
