Bizarre news around the world is the new black in media these days, the latest comes from a town in Uttar Pradesh. Yesterday the district jail in Orai, UP witnessed something unique, it was eight donkeys set free after four days of imprisonment. All thanks to a special 'recommendation' by a local BJP leader. Apparently, the poor donkeys were sent behind the bars by the Jail Superintendent Sita Ram Sharma, the reason being the head of the jail losing his cool after the four-legged creature chewing up costly plants brought by the prison authorities for the beautification of jail premises. According to the Jailer,

After he was informed that his animals had been jailed by the prison authorities the owner ran to set them free but to the dismay prison authorities were in no mood to let the donkeys go free. At last, the owner had to do what most of the commoners in our nation do, petition the politician. After listening to the poor fellow's fervent appeal the local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shakti Gahoi, rushed to the jailer asking prison authorities to let the donkeys go. Owner of the donkeys said in his statement;Various types of saplings were planted in the district jail premises for beautification. Those were damaged by the donkeys. Hence, I rounded them up.

Locals were so amused hearing the news that they hilted to watch donkeys walking out of the prison gates rather than men, this proves anything and everything is possible in Uttar Pradesh, India. For two days, I could not find my horses and donkeys. When I came to know that they are in jail, I sought the help from local BJP leaders. With their intervention the animals were released.
