Diljit Dosanjh Tops UK’s Top 50 Asian Celebrities List.

Global icon Diljit Dosanjh has been crowned the top Asian celebrity in the UK, surpassing Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the prestigious annual Top 50 Asian Celebrities in the World list, published by UK weekly Eastern Eye.

The 40-year-old Punjabi singer-actor claimed the top spot following a record-breaking year. His landmark ‘Dil-Luminati’ world tour became the most successful ever undertaken by any South Asian artist. Additionally, Dosanjh made history with a groundbreaking performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, elevating Indian music on the global stage.

“Diljit Dosanjh’s immense contributions to music and film, coupled with his proud promotion of Punjabi culture, made him an obvious choice for the top spot,” said Eastern Eye Entertainment Editor Asjad Nazir.

Dosanjh’s international collaborations and blockbuster hits further cemented his status as a global phenomenon. Balancing his dynamic musical journey, he showcased his acting prowess in critically acclaimed films, leaving an indelible mark on cinema.

The Top 50 list highlights South Asian luminaries who broke boundaries in 2024. Telugu actor Allu Arjun ranked third for his cinematic triumph, while Hollywood star Dev Patel placed fourth for his multi-faceted contributions to Monkey Man. Bollywood’s Priyanka Chopra Jonas rounded out the top five for her diverse projects, including Citadel season two.

The youngest entrant, 17-year-old Nitanshi Goel, shone in India’s Oscar entry Laapataa Ladies, while 82-year-old legend Amitabh Bachchan remained an evergreen inspiration.
