India Responds to Pakistani Strikes with Precision Operations; Forces on High Alert
Following a series of escalatory attacks by Pakistan on Indian military and civilian targets, the Government of India confirmed that Indian Armed Forces have conducted precision strikes on six Pakistani airbases and key military infrastructure.
In the early hours of May 10, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyan Ul Marsoos, targeting 26 military locations and civilian infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat using drones, loitering munitions, missiles, and fighter jets. The attacks damaged several airbases including Udhampur, Pathankot, Bhuj, and Bathinda. Pakistan also targeted hospitals and school buildings — actions the Indian government strongly condemned.
In response, India launched precision retaliatory strikes on airbases in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian, along with radar sites in Pasrur and an aviation base in Sialkot. These strikes focused on technical installations, radar systems, arms depots, and command centres while minimizing collateral damage.
The government has confirmed that Pakistan is mobilizing troops to forward areas along the border — the first such movement since the 1999 Kargil War. Speaking at a press briefing, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi stated that Indian forces remain fully prepared and in a high state of operational readiness.
India reiterated its commitment to non-escalation, contingent on similar restraint by Pakistan, and emphasized that all hostile actions would continue to receive a proportionate and firm response.
