External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar delivered a strong message against terrorism during his address at the Convocation Ceremony for Foreign National Students at Parul University. Reaffirming India’s uncompromising stand, he stated, “We will never give in to nuclear blackmail. Decisions in India’s national interest will always be taken — and firmly so.”

Referring to the recent Operation Sindoor launched on May 7, targeting nine terror bases in Pakistan and PoJK, Dr. Jaishankar underscored the need for an “exemplary response” to acts of terror. He condemned attempts to sabotage Jammu & Kashmir’s tourism and incite religious discord, asserting that “epicentres of terrorism are no longer immune.”

He emphasized India’s zero-tolerance approach and welcomed the growing international support for India’s right to defend itself. “It is heartening to witness understanding from other nations,” he noted, in reference to global reactions to the Pahalgam terror attack.

Dr. Jaishankar also spoke on the importance of mutual respect and non-interference in global diplomacy. He criticized certain nations for their double standards, warning against “ill-conceived interference in the politics of the Global South.”

Calling India a “rare civilizational state,” he stressed the country’s commitment to global responsibility, stating, “Our resources may be limited, but India has a large heart.”

His remarks reflect India’s evolving foreign policy and its strengthened resolve to safeguard national and global security.
