Wife and Brother-in-law Arrested for Murder of 35-Year-Old in Delhi
In a shocking case of betrayal and premeditated murder, Delhi Police have arrested a woman and her brother-in-law for allegedly killing her husband. The incident took place in Dwarka, southwest Delhi, where 35-year-old Karan Dev was found dead under suspicious circumstances on July 13.
The victim’s wife, Sushmita Dev, and her lover Rahul Dev—who is also Karan’s cousin—have been arrested for conspiring to murder him. The plot came to light after Karan’s younger brother, Kunal, discovered incriminating chats between the accused on Sushmita’s phone. These chats detailed their plan to drug and then electrocute Karan.
According to police, the duo had been in a secret relationship for two years. The investigation revealed that Sushmita and Rahul intended to kill Karan to start a life together and take control of his property. In one chat, Sushmita is seen asking Rahul about how long it takes to die from the sedatives. Rahul instructs her to tie Karan up and use electric shock when the medicine fails.
Despite attempts to avoid a post-mortem, Karan’s family insisted, leading to further inquiry. The couple’s resistance and the content of the recovered messages raised red flags, prompting immediate police action.
Both accused are in police custody and being interrogated. The case is under further investigation to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and any additional involvement.
