Haryana Man Fatally Shot in US After Intervening in Public Urination Incident
A tragic incident has shaken the village of Barah Kala in Jind district, as 26-year-old Kapil was fatally shot in California, USA, after he reportedly stopped a man from urinating in public.
According to his family, Kapil had moved to the US in 2022 through the “Dunki” route, spending nearly ₹45 lakh (approx. $54,000) in hopes of building a better future. On the night of the incident, Kapil intervened when he saw a man urinating in the open. The confrontation turned violent, and he was shot, collapsing on the street. Witnesses called emergency services, and Kapil was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Born on May 22, 2000, Kapil was the only heir of his farming family. His relatives describe him as hardworking, devoted, and deeply connected to his roots. “He simply asked a man not to urinate in the open, and for that, he was shot,” a grieving relative told reporters.
The family, already under financial strain after spending their life savings to send Kapil abroad, now faces the daunting challenge of repatriating his body to India. They have appealed to the government for assistance in bringing him home.
US authorities have not yet confirmed any arrests in connection with the case. The family and community await justice while mourning the untimely loss of a young life full of promise.
