Paresh Rawal’s Upcoming Film The Taj Story Clarifies Its Stand Amid Poster Backlash
  • PublishedSeptember 30, 2025

The recently unveiled motion poster of The Taj Story, starring veteran actor Paresh Rawal, has sparked widespread online debate after it featured a visual of a Shiva idol emerging from inside the dome of the Taj Mahal. Following the criticism, the filmmakers have issued a clear statement, stressing that the film does not touch upon religious matters or promote unverified claims.

Produced by Swarnim Global Services Pvt. Ltd. and CA Suresh Jha, The Taj Story is written and directed by Tushar Amrish Goel, with Vikas Radhesham as creative producer. The film is set to release in cinemas on October 31, 2025.

In response to the controversy, the production team clarified: “The makers of the film The Taj Story wish to clarify that the movie does not deal with any religious matters, nor does it claim that a Shiv temple resides within the Taj Mahal. It focuses solely on historical facts. We would kindly request audiences to watch the film and form their own opinion.”

Paresh Rawal echoed this sentiment, reiterating that the film is based on historical storytelling and not religious debate.

The Taj Mahal, built in the 17th century by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, has long been surrounded by fringe theories regarding its origins. The makers emphasize that The Taj Story avoids such speculation, focusing instead on presenting a cinematic narrative rooted in history.
