INDIA Bloc Declares Tejashwi Yadav as Chief Ministerial Candidate for Bihar Elections
The Opposition INDIA bloc today announced Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The declaration was made at a joint press conference attended by all coalition partners of the alliance.
Senior Congress leader and poll observer Ashok Gehlot made the announcement, stating that all partners had unanimously agreed to project Tejashwi Yadav as the face of the alliance. Gehlot further revealed that Mukesh Sahni, founder of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), would be one of the two Deputy Chief Ministerial candidates, with the second name to be announced soon.
Tejashwi Yadav, in his address, thanked the alliance for its confidence in his leadership and promised to build a “new Bihar” focused on employment, good governance, and social justice. He reiterated his commitment to providing one government job per family and improving law and order, while accusing the ruling NDA government of corruption, misgovernance, and lack of vision.
The INDIA bloc leaders urged voters to unite for change and accused the BJP of divisive politics. CPI-ML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya pledged the alliance’s determination to replace the Nitish Kumar-led government in the forthcoming elections.
With Tejashwi Yadav’s projection as CM face, the INDIA bloc seeks to consolidate youth and backward caste support ahead of the high-stakes Bihar polls.
