As international pop star Bryan Adams gears up to come to India for a live concert, speculations have been rife about which other artists get to share the stage with him for accompanying acts. Now, we have exclusively heard that actor Priyanka Chopra and music composer-singer AR Rahman will perform for the opening act of the Canadian singer. A source reveals, “Initially, the promoters weren’t keen on any opening act to ensure that the focus is solely on the artiste. But since Adams has worked with Priyanka previously, and AR Rahman has been Adams’ favorite musician from India, the promoters are finding a way to creatively rope in both the artists. And although there is room for only one opening act, the promoters are trying to find a middle path. Additionally, a special act is being considered where all three will pay homage to the recent Kerala floods.” Even though the details are yet to be chalked out, the source adds that Priyanka and Rahman will mostly perform in Mumbai and Delhi, apart from one other city in the tour line-up. About visiting India for the fifth time, Adams had earlier said, “Namaste India. India is one of my favorite places in the whole world. The love and generosity that I have experienced here is immense and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to perform again in this beautiful country.” Adams will kick off his tour in Ahmedabad (October 9) followed by pit stops in Hyderabad (October 11), Mumbai (October 12) and Bengaluru (October 13). The tour will wrap up in Delhi (October 14).
