Punjabi cine world is growing at a pace which is commendable and fabulous. All thanks to the filmmakers and each and every person involved in the filmmaking process, that this has been possible. Now Punjabi cinema is not restrained to just the Punjabi industry, people all over the world and the country are seeing it and appreciating it.
The proof of this can be seen in the fact that the Punjabi artists are getting a chance every day to showcase their talent in the Bollywood entertainment industry. Diljit Dosanjh, Guru Randhawa, Ammy Virk, and Jassie Gill are some of the many names who have showcased their talent all over the world now.
Not just this, Punjabi films are now even getting nominated at international film festivals for various reasons. One film which has recently been nominated is Rabb Da Radio. It has been nominated at The International Filmmaker Festival Of World Cinema London 2019. The film has been nominated for the best technically strong film. This is a proud moment for the entire Punjabi film industry, and especially the entire team of Rabb Da Radio.
Not just this, the director of the film Tarnvir Singh Jagpal will have a question and answer round at the film festival. This is a major achievement for the director who has directed just two films. Such occasions increase the confidence of the filmmakers and also encourage them to make better films every time.
The film was released in 2017, was helmed by Tarnvir Singh Jagpal and Harry Bhatti. Manpreet Johal had produced the film and Jass Grewal had written the story of the film. Lead pair of the film was Simi Chahal and Tarsem Jassar. Other actors who were seen in the film are Mandy Takhar, Jagjeet Sandhu, Harbu Sangha, Anita Devgan, Nirmal Rishi, and Satwant Kaur. Ammy Virk had a cameo role in the film.
Now the filmmakers are once again all prepared to release the sequel of the film under the same name, ‘Rabb Da Radio 2’. But this time, the film has been directed by Sharan Art. The film is being backed by Manpreet Johal and Anshu Munish Sahni under Vehli Janta films. Munish Sahni’s Omjee Group is the official worldwide distributor.
The sequel will be released in the theatres on 29th March 2019.
