Akshay Kumar who was a lead star in the blockbuster Toilet: Ek Prem Katha in which he voiced against open defecation in the fields by constructing toilet at home hasn’t ditched his ideals in the real life as well as he has donated Rs. 10 lacs to fund the construction of Bio-Toilets at Juhu Beach. Eight months earlier, while Akshay Kumar was promoting his movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, his wife Twinkle Khanna got trolled for her tweet about her morning walk getting ruined because of people defecating in open. What both of them were doing was creating awareness about this major issue in the society instead they got trolled and disliked for doing a noble task. [caption id="attachment_33217" align="aligncenter" width="759"] Source[/caption] It was said that people defecate in the open because they have no choice. So, Akshay took this initiative by teaming up with Shiv Sena Leader Aaditya Thackeray. According a Mumbai Mirror report, BMC has said that this will only “partly solve the problem”. More such toilets would be needed to completely solve the problem. The toilets have six seats, three each for men and women ,and a separate row of urinals. Assistant Municipal Commissioner, K-West ward, Prashant Gaikwad said, “The toilets have bio-digester so there will be no stink. The toilets will bring a lot of relief to not just the local slum dwellers, but also to visitors”. Well, this is not the first time when Akshay Kumar has taken up a Social issue and won our hearts by solving it. Earlier, he donated funds to the families of martyred soldiers. Time and again he makes his major contribution to the society.
