AKSHAY KUMAR PUTS IT FORTH SAYS 'COULDN'T DO 'KESARI' WITH SALMAN KHAN

Bollywood's top-notch actor Akshay Kumar has revealed that he and superstar Salman Khan couldn't on "Kesari" together. And now he is making the film with filmmaker Karan Johar. According to reports, Salman had actually teamed up with Akshay for a project namely 'Kesari' in which the 'Padman' protagonist was to play the hero. Salman was to co-produce it with Karan. At an event yesterday, when asked to comment on Salman backing out of the project "Kesari", Akshay simply stated;

Yes, we couldn't do it. I am making the film with Karan Johar and that's it.
On the front of film's progress? Akshay replied;
The title has been finalised as 'Kesari'. I will start working on the film in January. We will be continuously shooting for it after the release of 'Padman'.
"Kesari" is to be based on Battle of Saragarhi. The similar topic has already been adopted by one or two more filmmakers who are also working towards it. When questioned about "Padman" clashing with Neeraj Pandey's "Aiyaary" at the box office on January 26 next year, Akshay stated that both the films are absolutely different from each other. Moreover, Neeraj Pandey is a dear friend. Akshay even retaliated towards media quoting;
And, yes, this word 'clash' has actually come from media. We have no problem in releasing films. There are around 4,000-5,000 screens in India and my film is screened in 2,800 screens. I think it's fair enough.
"Padman" is directorial of R. Balki and is based on Arunachalam Muruganantham, who created a revolution in the field of affordable menstrual hygiene. When questioned about his expectations for the film and the research work involved, Akshay replied that he hadn't done the research, but his wife, Twinkle, did it. He also stated the concept was also of hers and the script was written by R. Balki, himself. "It is a very honest subject which we have to bring in front of the Indian audience. It is a must subject which is why I went for it," the actor added.
