https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qngm5ozgQY Punjabi songwriter Devinder Benipal passed away on January 30, 2018. He took his last breath in Patiala, his birthplace, and hometown. Devinder had given numerous hits to the Punjabi music industry during 90's. To name a few prominent songs are "12 Bor" by Lehmber Hussainpuri, "Love Ho Gaya" by Satwinder Bitti, "Teri Meri" by Rupinder Handa , "Jhuthya Raptan" by Daljit Bittu, "Bai G" by Sonu Virk, "Teri Ki Guarantee" by Harbans Babbu, "Had Ho Gayi Malko" by Hans Raj Hans and "Kurti" by Sarbjit Cheema. The late lyricist did his schooling from Government Multipurpose Senior Secondary School, Patiala and later on completed his graduation from Punjabi University, Patiala. As per Devinder Benipal's self-description on his official Facebook handle he was a nature loving person and a bit emotional. He tried to live life in the best possible way and to seize every moment of my life through his songs. Till date, he has near about 200 Punjabi songs to his name which have been recorded and were penned down by the pass away. Benipal was single and has a brother Harwinder Benipal. Punjabi singer Rupinder Handa also took it to her official Facebook handle sharing the sad news about the demise of the lyricist, who had given her the song that had helped her to establish her identity in her music career. Handa quoted;

Mere music career ch jis song ne ik pehchan banayi "teri meri nibhi jandi tan karke " es song de writter "davinder benipal " es duniya nu alvida keh gye . Parmatma ohna de pure pariwar nu es bhana manan da bal bakshan 😞 (The song which created my identity in my music career "teri meri nibhi jandi tan karke " was written by 'davinder benipal' who has demised from this world. May Lord give all the strenght to his family to accept this will of God)
