This year’s Femina Miss India award has been received by Anukreethy Vas who hails from Tamil Nadu. She is the winner of the 55th series of Femina Miss India pageant which was organised at Dome, NSCI Stadium. Miss Meenakshi Chaudhary who hails from Haryana was declared the first runner up, and Miss Shreya Rao who hails from Andhra Pradesh bagged the second runner up position. Modelling and acting are two areas where her interests lie. Anukreethy will go ahead and participate in the International beauty pageants representing India. The show was enormous and grand as the top celebrities were present at the event which was a witness to immense beauty, class and charm. Madhuri Dixit Nene was also a recipient of the title Mrs India as she exhibited her multi talent by singing on stage. The famous Karan Johar and Ayushmaan Khurana were the hosts for the evening, which saw 30 participants in the race to win Miss India title. Four zones were made in which the participants were divided, and each zone had a mentor. For the North Zone, Neha Dhupia (Femina Miss India 2002), for South Zone, Rakul Preet Singh (Femina Miss India 2011-Runner up), for East Zone Pooja Chopra (Miss India World 2009) and for West Zone Pooja Hegde (Miss Universe India 2010). Participants were judged by Miss World and Miss India 2017 Manushi Chiller, cricketers K L Rahul, Irfan Pathan, Bollywood actors Bobby Deol, Kunal Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan, top fashion designer of B-town Gaurav Gupta and Faye D’Souza the famous Indian journalist. This added all the more glamour to the show. The participants wore Gaurav Gupta’s designs for the finale event. Top 12 contestants were selected from the 30 contestants for entering the Question Answer round of the grand event. Among those 12 selected participants, five winners were selected for competing for the title by giving an answer for the question- “Who is the better teacher? Success or Failure?” The top five participants were Miss India Delhi, Miss India Haryana, Miss India Jharkhand, Miss India Tamil Nadu, Miss India Andhra Pradesh.
