The current Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh, was recently in Delhi to discuss an important matter with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to Raveen Thukral CM Amarinder Singh's media adviser, CM wants the extra electrical power of 1000MW, supply they have in the state, to be sold either to Pakistan or Nepal. He wants to sell it in order to generate revenue from it. CM has put out his view that it will be easier to provide the power supply to Pakistan as the Goindwal Sahib Thermal Plant is located near to the International boundary. Other than power supply Amarinder Singh has also expressed his concerns over farmers. He wants PM's involvement to shift farmers to non-paddy cultivation by putting a price deficiency payment mechanism. He has even appealed to the PM that the compensation farmers are receiving at present from the central government to be increased. In addition to it, Amarinder Singh even urged that the compensations that the neighboring states like Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir are receiving should not be given at the cost of Punjab's economic development. He added if those states are given the special package then Punjab should also be given equally.
