In the year 1969, Amitabh Bachchan made his debut on the big screen with the film ‘Saat Hindustani’ and after completing four decades in the industry, he is still amusing everyone with his performances.

Big B has been awarded many prestigious titles and awards and now one more feather will be added to his bejeweled cap as he has been recently selected for the Dada Saheb Phalke award for the year 2018 for his contribution to the Indian film industry.

This official announcement was made on twitter by Union Minister of Information & Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar. Making it official he wrote in his post –

 "The legend Amitabh Bachchan, who entertained and inspired for 2 generations has been selected unanimously for #dadasahabphalke award. The entire country and the international community is happy. My heartiest Congratulations to him."

On this big achievement of Big B , legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar said,

"Mein kya kahun unke [Amitabh Bachchan] baarein mein. Poori duniya kehti hai ki vo bahut bade artist hai, aur bahut ache insaan hain. Mujhe unki saari filmein pasand hai. Lekin unhone Anand mein bada acha kaam kiya hai."

With this BJP ministers, Amit Shah and Smriti Irani also congratulated Amitabh Bachan on their respective Twitter accounts.


In addition to this, the Filmmaker Karan Johar took to his social media congratulating Big B and addressing him as a bonafide rock star. He wrote

"The most inspiring legend of Indian Cinema!! He is a bonafide rock star and I am honored and proud to be born in the Era of AMITABH BACHCHAN!"

Amitabh Bachan is unstoppable at 76, who recently wrapped the shoot of his upcoming film 'Gulabo Sitabo' in which he will be seen playing a khadoos landlord in with Ayushmann Khurrana.

Apart from this film, he will be seen in an adventure fantasy drama called 'Brahmastra' which is being directed by Ayan Mukherji starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt along with him.

The Shahenshah of Bollywood has been awarded four National Film Awards till now for films 'Black' , 'Agneepath' , 'Paa' , and 'Piku'.

In 1984, he was awarded Padma Shri, followed by Padma Bhushan in 2001 and The Padma Vibhushan in 2015.In the Indian cinema, the Dada Saheb Phalke Award is the highest recognition that was conferred to Late Vinod Khanna in the year 2017.
