ARE FILMMAKERS PLANING A SEQUEL TO 'AKSHAY KUMAR' STARRER 'ROWDY RATHORE'?

In the year 2012, director Prabhudeva had given us one of the best action films of all time, Rowdy Rathore. The film starred Akshay Kumar in the lead, and now seven year later, the filmmakers have confirmed a sequel of the film full of entertainment.

During an interview with one of the leading dailies, Shabinaa Khan, the co-producer of the original with Sanjay Leela Bhansali said that the writers are working on the script of Rowdy Rathore’s sequel.

She said “We are in the process of writing Rowdy Rathore 2 right now and it will feature Akshay in the lead.

In the original film, Akshay Kumar was seen in a double role in Prabhudeva’s film as Shiva- a thief and Vikram Rathore, a cop. But Rathore dies because of the corruption and politicians. Later he is replaced with Shiva who is his lookalike and is then on a mission to catch the culprits of Rathore’s death.

In the first part, Sonakshi Sinha was seen playing the love interest of Shiva, but this is not confirmed if she will be seen playing a role in the sequel of the film.

Rowdy Rathore is a remake of 2006 Telugu film titled Vikramarkudu. The Telugu version of the film starred Ravi Teja and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles. However, the Bollywood version of the film was directed by Prabhudeva.

As of now, Akshay Kumar is super busy shooting for Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’. Every day he is seen sharing pictures from his shoot but there is always a warning from the actor to his fans to not try such dangerous stunts. Sooryavanshi is another film entering the Rohit Shetty’s world of cop police, which was announced at the end of his last film, Simmba.

Well, another update about the film is that comedian and actor, Sunil Grover has joined Sorryavanshi and will be seen as an antagonist of the film. Sunil Grover was last seen in Salman Khan starrer Bharat which has released in the theatres on the occasion of Eid.
