The #MeToo movement in India has taken Bollywood by storm. Every day there are new females coming out against predators who harassed them years back. These revelations have shattered the film fraternity. Aamir Khan recently met Producers Guild in order to make the tinsel town a safe place for women. Many actors spoke about it and Recently actor Arjun Kapoor, who is promoting his next Namaste England, has said this about the allegations on the director Vikas Bahl.
"There was speculation in the industry that there were certain people who knew the reality within the office (Phantom Films). The hearsay doesn't allow us the power to do something when people within the office are not doing something. It is like when there is a robbery happening in your house, the neighbor can't file the complaint. Not having an HR in office is bizarre, I am not able to wrap my head around this... It is basic for any company, you could have saved the girl from further damage if you had a safe environment in your office, it is sad and bizarre," Arjun told PTI.
It is sad to see such revelations after the allegations. We're sure there are many such horrifying stories about harassment and molestation are coming. Let's see how Bollywood will deal with this.
