An incident which shook the Punjabi’s in India and Australia was the attack on bus driver Manmeet Alisher hailing from Punjab. Where an Australian citizen named Anthony O’Donohue had thrown a homemade bomb on him when he passed a smile at him. The bus was carrying 14 passengers when the accident took place. As a result Anthony O’ Donohue was accused with a charge of one murder and 14 attempted murders. In this case, from last two years everyone was expecting a fair trial by the court but the recent decision has shattered all the hopes of the victim’s family. The court gave the ruling that Anthony O’Donohue was mentally upset and due to his mental health treatment deficiencies he took such a step. Not just this the court also released his mental health report which stated that he was undergoing a medical treatment since the year 2003. Although Anthony O’Donohue admitted to authorities he was afraid he would kill someone years before he set a Brisbane bus driver on fire, because he believed he was part of an elaborate conspiracy to destroy his life. Now when the court has excused him of the murder committed under whatsoever conscious or unconscious circumstances, the question arises that who should be held responsible for this brutal act? A person lost his life, a family lost their son. And in return they are not even given justice by the court. The family wants justice and so does everyone else.
