Ayushmann Khurrana seems to be unstoppable when it comes to bagging entertaining as well as influential roles. The actor who began his acting career with Vicky Donor, has already signed two films which are as quirky as his previous movies.
Seeing Ayushmann’s talent, celebrated director Shoojit Sircar has brought the Andhadhun actor together with Amitabh Bachchan for the first time.
While the film is set to go on floors in June, the movie, penned by Juhi Chaturvedi, will see Ayushmann and Big B sharing screen space for the very first time in a quirky comedy. Although both the actors has worked with Sircar but they never came together in one film. The film titled Gulabo Sitabo, will be set in Lucknow and is being helmed by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar.
Talking about the upcoming film, Sircar said,
“Me and Juhi have been working on this script for quite some time...and as we all know when Juhi comes up with a story it has her trademark quirk in it. As soon as I read it I was extremely excited and shared it with Ronnie, my dear friend and Producer and to both Mr Bachchan and Ayushman at the same time. I thought it would take some time to develop and proceed but everyone including the duo were so enthusiastic to do this script, that they figured their dates and here we are, planning to release it this year!"
He further added,
"After Piku and Vicky Donor, I had been wanting to work with Mr Bachchan and Ayushmann on an equally quirky script so this fell perfectly in place. Speaking on the title, the story is based in Lucknow, and Gulabo Sitabo is a fun colloquial metaphor used by the locals..as to it's connect to the story, wait and watch the film to know more..”
Meanwhile, Shoojit Sircar is currently working on Udham Singh biopic with Vicky Kaushal as the shoot will resume in Russia and several other locations. Ayushmann, too, has begun filming for Amar Kaushik’s Bala alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam. On the other hand, Big B will be seen in the upcoming movie, Chehre, directed by Rumi Jaffrey, co-starring Emraan Hashmi.
